 over 14 miles of trails, one-way 

 

 One of the most popular multi-use trails in the SC 

 Midlands, the Cayce Riverwalk trail system overlooks 

 the beautiful Congaree River, and right across from the 

 capital city of Columbia. This easy, mostly flat trail is a 

 popular destination for walking, jogging, bicycling,-
-wildlife viewing, picnicking and just taking in the natural-
-beauty of the riverfront area. A lot of the trail is shaded,-
-and you'll find public art, benches and picnic tables!-

Difficulty:  Easy to moderate, depending on length.

Distance:  12 miles total of trail.

Time:  Plan a minimum of 1 hour to enjoy this riverwalk, but spend as much time as you want.

Trail Surface:  Mostly concrete/asphalt with wood boardwalks and foot bridges.

Bike Type:  Hybrid, "beach" cruiser, kid's bike, road bike, just about any bike type will work on this

smooth, asphalt trail. 

Crowds:  This trail is very popular; you're likely to see many others, even on weekdays.

Trailhead & Parking:  There are a total of 6 official trailheads. From north to south, they are:

**After arriving at trail access, you can bike in either direction. The Cayce Riverwalk shares its paths

with the Three Rivers Greenway. You'll see signs for both on the walkways.

Phase 1 - Blossom Street Trailhead: The best place to park is on Kiln Street, Cayce, SC 29033.

Bike Repair Stations:  Yes, at some of the trailheads. 

 

Precautions:  The wood boardwalks and foot bridges can be slippery when wet, even with morning dew. After heavy rains, some of the trail can be underwater due to flooding. Biting insects can be formidable in warmer months. Bring insect repellent. There are warnings that alligators could be in the area.
