
# 9 - Fourteen Mile Creek-
Rated: Easy
1.5 miles, round-trip
This delightful little trail is right outside of downtown
Lexington. It has 10-ft. wide paths with wood bridges,
resting benches, an outdoor classroom, picnic tables,
all while paralleling its namesake "Fourteen Mile Creek."
The scenic creek gently wanders back and forth, and-
-has an air of peacefulness. This is a great spot for-
-a quick lunchtime walk. It's appropriate for all ages-
-and skill levels. -

Difficulty: Easy.
Distance: 1.5 miles, round-trip, out-and-back trail.
Time: 30 - 45 minutes.
Trail Surface: Natural surface with most of it covered with plastic "grating" (to prevent erosion and
to help with a muddy trail surface). A couple wood boardwalks and foot bridges.
Crowds: Very light. This trail is not well known.
Trailhead & Parking: Trailhead parking is at the Stop N Shop gas station, 1104 N. Lake Drive,
Lexington, SC 29072 (northeast corner of HWY 6 & Old Cherokee Road). Parking for the trailhead is
on far end of the gas station parking lot paralleling Old Cherokee Road. There are signs indicating
this. The actual trailhead is on the northwest side of the gas station, paralleling HWY-6. Do not park
over near the trailhead; your vehicle might get towed!

Fees/Permits: None.
Restrooms: You should be able to use the restrooms at the Stop N Shop gas station.
Precautions: The wood boardwalks and foot bridges can be slippery when wet, even with morning dew. You'll
be walking through a wetland wooded area; biting insects can be formidable in warmer months. Bring insect repellent.
