3.5 miles, round-trip
Part of the Cayce Riverwalk trail system, this popular
walking and biking trail is located on the outskirts of
Cayce and follows the beautiful Congaree Creek and
its floodplain. It's a concrete trail with several wood
bridges (that can be slippery when wet!), and is suitable-
-for pedestrians, bicycles, strollers and wheelchairs.-
-The trail is an easy loop that starts and ends at the-
-SCANA Energy parking lot. -

Difficulty: Easy.
Distance: 3.5 miles, if you walk the entire loop; options for shorter distances.
Time: 1 - 1.5 hours.
Trail Surface: Mostly concrete with wood boardwalks and foot bridges.
Crowds: This trail is very popular; you're likely to see many others, even on weekdays.
Trailhead & Parking: SCANA Energy parking lot. Otarre Parkway, Cayce, SC 29172. About 250-ft. after
turning onto Otarre Parkway from 12th Street Ext. is the parking lot entrance on the right.

Restrooms: Yes, at the Fort Congaree/south trailhead.
Precautions: The wood boardwalks and foot bridges can be slippery when wet, even with morning dew. You'll
be walking through a wetland forest; biting insects can be formidable in warmer months. Bring insect repellent.
There are warnings that alligators could be in the area.
